SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 22
(Originating in the Committee on Transportation)
Urging the Secretary of Transportation consider the feasibility of
expanding the courtesy patrol to the turnpike.

Whereas, The courtesy patrol instituted by the Division of
Highways to assist motorists on the state's highways has been an
unqualified success; and

Whereas, The courtesy patrol program provides valuable work
experience for citizens of this state attempting to extricate
themselves from welfare dependency; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Legislature hereby urges the Secretary of
Transportation study the feasibility of expanding the courtesy
patrol to those areas of the state, particularly the turnpike,
presently not served by the program; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner
of the Division of Highways, the Secretary of the Department of
Transportation and the Governor.
